Nuclear Reactor Site Maps
Updated August 14, 2016

If there were ever a clearly inadvisable place to live, it would be near a nuclear plant parked over an earthquake zone and downwind of prevailing winds from that area. Currently there are 100 licensed operating nuclear power plants in the United States. 66 are Pressurized Water Reactors and 34 are Boiling Water Reactors like those at Fukushima. Combined they generate about 20% of our nation's electrical use. Another 31 reactors are for nuclear research and testing.
